Sync voice memo back onto phone?

I can't figure out how to do this? I don't want to sync my entire voice memo library back onto my phone so I created a new playlist in iTunes of the voice memos I wanted. When I selected that as part of the syncing process and completed sync, I can't find them anywhere on my phone. Thanks for any advice.
